Learn the ancient technique of creating a multi-colored print from wood blocks.
You will learn about reverse imagery, transferring your image to the wood block, carving multi-blocks that will create one image, reduction methods, registration or line-up of the image and printing basics.
Students will discover how to hand print as well as how to use a small press. Learn and practice preparing, mixing and applying ink to your block(s) for printing. You will be given the option of completing a reduction print (single block)or a multi-block print.
Families are encouraged to attend. There will be half-hour lunch breaks so bring a sack lunch. Kitchen facilities are available for cooking/heating and cooling as well. All materials will be provided by the instructor.
