Have you ever thought about cooking in a outdoor brick oven, but it seemed like too much work to construct? Would a portable oven be more your style? Well we have the perfect project for you. Join David S. Cargo as he teaches how to build a portable stacked-brick oven from individual bricks. After the oven is built, it will be fired and heated up while students are learning to make dough for flatbread, pizza and bread. Build, bake, eat, and have a fun time on the ranch! Optional during lunch or/and in the afternoon: students can taste some RDR homemade fruit and herb wine made from plants on the property.
Bring: A sack lunch, we will sample products made around mid afternoon. Also bring a hat, work gloves, and note taking materials.
